Wisdom Global Digital University for Research & Innovation (WGDURI) is under the aegis of the Indian Society for Literacy Development (ISLD). ISLD is established in the year 1987. It is a non-profit making national level educational society (NGO), in order to promote Literacy, Rural Development, and Science and Technology by modern means. ISLD gives prominence to developing those people who are uneducated, unemployed, working adults, SCs, STs, and children who belong to socially and economically weaker sections of Indian society. Special attention is given to those children who are physically handicapped and orphans. Besides these ISLD is working in the fields of environment and other social welfare activities such as skill development, women and youth empowerment, health and hygiene and philanthropic activities too.

Wisdom Global Digital University for Research & Innovation (WGDURI) is a Non-Traditional & Autonomous University with a large and diverse student body drawn by its innovative and applicable degree programs in a wide range of disciplines. WGDURI is a Non-Profit & Autonomous university, a unit of the Indian Society for Literacy Development, a National level NGO, and it has introduced new innovative and practical academic programs across a wide range of disciplines, established a vibrant learning culture, and attracted many students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, including women and youth in India.

We operate as a distance education and cross-border institution of higher learning, and, the nature of its education models are as follows:

• Professionally guided online instruction with individualized attention provided via email, chat, or other means of electronic contact.

• Self-study with the aid of an expert teacher and electronic reading materials.

• Mixed model including online participation, on-campus lectures, and weekend seminars.

• Students from kindergarten all the way through college enroll in courses at Wisdom Global Digital University for Research & Innovation. They come from every continent and speak hundreds of different languages. • Most courses at WGDURI are delivered through the web. Many of our diploma recipients are accepted into graduate programs, and our access students go on to study at top local and worldwide universities.
• For over 30 years, the Indian Society for Literacy Development (ISLD) has worked to improve the literacy rates of disadvantaged adults, women, and children in India’s rural and semi-urban villages. This includes providing them with access to early childhood education, primary and elementary schooling, computer education, and adult education. The Wisdom Public Schools in the capital city of India & NCR have been instrumental in this respect.

• ISLD has been instrumental in bringing the disadvantaged and weaker elements of society into the mainstream through educational uplift and social uplift. ISLD has been active in enhancing the economic and social standing of the country’s women and young people. It is also useful in the areas of public health, personal cleanliness, and ecological preservation. ISLD also engages in a wide variety of charitable initiatives. The university is likely to provide several courses over the internet, television, or other media that are separate and distinct from programs offered by single institutions outside combined – Yet are named “Digital / Virtual” because they appear only on the internet, without a physical location aside from their administration unit.

The institution can be formed with or without actual campuses to get program delivery through technology media broadcast from another location where academics conduct video lectures.
